Tehran Zine workshops are held with the aim of introducing the zine as an independent artistic medium for artists. In these workshops, we not only present the zine as a tool for personal expression, but also teach artists how they can self-publish their works in limited editions.
Each workshop spans two days. On the first day, we explore the history of zines and their role in art history. Participants will have the opportunity to review the Tehran Zine archive, get familiar with a variety of artistic works in zine format, and begin designing their own zines either by hand or digitally.
Zines at Tehran Zine are printed using the duplication technique with a Risograph printer. The second day of the workshop is dedicated to practical training in duplicating and how the Risograph printer works. With the help of the Tehran Zine team, each artist prints their work on suitable paper for their project. All printed copies are given to the participants.
